The defendants in this case comprised four Siemens entities: Siemens Healthineers AG (Germany), Siemens Healthcare GmbH (Germany), Siemens Healthineers Nederland B.V. (Netherlands) and Siemens Healthcare SAS (France). The court held the four defendants jointly and severally liable for the infringement.

Recently, the German Federal Patent Court ruled on the patent infringement dispute between Nera Innovations and Xiaomi, revoking the ‘mobile terminal’ patent (EP2947606) asserted by Nera. With this ruling, all three patent infringement lawsuits brought by Nera against Xiaomi have now been dismissed at the first-instance stage.

Google recently published the YouTube Copyright Transparency Report, detailing the platform’s copyright enforcement activities for 2025. The data reveals that YouTube processed approximately 2.503 billion copyright claims in 2025, marking a further increase from the approximately 2.2 billion claims recorded in 2024.

This ruling stems from a lawsuit filed by the IOC in January 2026. The IOC alleges that the defendants (including the Malaysian entity OlyLife International Sdn. Bhd.) are an international multi-level marketing organisation that sells products such as pulsed electromagnetic field therapy devices, terahertz light wave devices and hydrogen-rich water cups under the registered “OlyLife” trademark, and creates a false association by using slogans such as “OlyLife passionately means live an Olympic Life!” alongside the Olympic rings. The IOC emphasised that the defendants had not obtained any Olympic sponsorship rights and that failure to stop them would cause irreparable damage to its reputation.

The patents at issue relate to Seer’s Proteograph product suite, covering automated systems, software and other innovative technologies for proteomic testing. Two of these patents (US Patent Nos. 11,435,360 and 12,228,566) are owned by Brigham and Women’s Hospital and exclusively licensed to Seer. Seer alleges that Nanomics’ Proteonano series workstations and test kits, among other products, infringe all five patents, including US Patents Nos. 11,630,112, 12,050,222 and 12,590,948.

On 2 June 2026, the Court of Appeal of the Unified Patent Court (UPC) issued its final ruling in the Fujifilm v Kodak printing plate patent case, dismissing Fujifilm’s claims and setting aside the German and UK injunctions previously granted against Kodak by the Mannheim Regional Division, as well as the fine of €1.72 million (approximately RMB 13.5257 million).

According to a material announcement submitted by MediaTek to the Taiwan Stock Exchange on 29 May, its patent management subsidiary, HFI Innovation, has acquired a portfolio of patent assets from LG Electronics for NT$1.6 billion (approximately US$50 million). The announcement stated that the purpose of the transaction was “for business operations”, but did not disclose the number of patents involved, the technical fields covered, or the specific composition of the portfolio.

This ruling stems from the infringement lawsuit filed by Dolby earlier this year, in conjunction with IP Bridge, against Skyworth and related Brazilian entities regarding AV1 video codec patents. In addition to the action against Skyworth, Dolby has also filed similar lawsuits against Snap in Brazil and the United States.

The patent at issue in this case is EP3119235, owned by Dyson. On 18 March 2026, Dreame filed an application with the Hamburg Regional Division, seeking a preliminary declaration of non-infringement (Claim I) and the issuance of relevant injunctions (Claims II and III) in response to Dyson’s infringement claims regarding its new hair care products based on the aforementioned patent.

On 22 May 2026, the German computer company ParTec filed a patent infringement lawsuit against Lenovo Group at the Düsseldorf Regional Division of the Unified Patent Court (UPC), asserting two patents relating to high-performance computing. These two patents are identical to those currently being asserted by ParTec against NVIDIA.
