On November 3, the Munich Regional Court ruled that Disney infringed a patent held by InterDigital, granting InterDigital the right to seek an injunction. The patent in question supports technology enabling the dynamic overlay of a second video stream containing subtitles onto a first video stream. Disney may appeal this ruling.

Missouri-based home design company DesignWorks Homes and its sole shareholder Charles James jointly filed a lawsuit alleging copyright infringement by Missouri real estate firm House of Brokers and several independent brokers. The complaint alleged that brokers, acting as agents for then-owners, entered residences, reverse-engineered the designs using computer-aided design software to create floor plans, and published these plans on websites for property marketing.

Hisense's proactive patent infringement lawsuit against Nokia is not an isolated incident. Prior to this, Nokia had already initiated multiple rounds of patent litigation in 2025 against several companies, including Hisense, Acer, and Asus. These lawsuits span judicial and administrative bodies across multiple countries and regions, including the United States, India, and Europe.

This case marks the first known infringement lawsuit involving U.S. patents to be heard by a German regional court following the BSH Hausgeräte v. Electrolux ruling.

This legal dispute marks the latest development in the “food delivery war” between Meituan and Didi in Brazil. In August 2025, 99 accused Keeta of using colors, patterns, and fonts similar to its platform to “boost its commercial operations” in the Brazilian market.

Currently, the primary patent pools managing HEVC standard essential patents are Access Advance and Via LA. Microsoft is both a licensor and licensee of the Access Advance HEVC patent pool, as well as a licensee of the Via LA HEVC patent pool. Amazon, however, is currently only a licensee of the Access Advance HEVC patent pool.

Optis is asserting five standard-essential patents covering 2G, 3G, 4G (LTE), and 5G technologies. The case is being heard by Justice Tejas Karia.

In response to Nokia's global litigation, Acer, Hisense, and Asus subsequently initiated legal actions, suing Nokia in the High Court of England and Wales. Acer and Hisense filed their lawsuits in June, while Asus formally joined the legal battle on July 17.

This injunction was issued “without notice to the defendant.” InterDigital has the right to apply to the court within 7 days of receiving this order, upon 48 hours' prior notice to Amazon's counsel, to modify or vacate the order.

According to court documents, OPPO contends that Apple's lawsuit fails to establish any connection between the alleged trade secret theft and OPPO's involvement. The company claims there is no evidence that OPPO knew of or utilized any trade secrets belonging to Apple.
